Troy is a born and bred Texas boy from the small town of Fairfield (pop. 3,546). He's been in the world of radio since the age of 15 when he started at his hometown radio station, KNES-FM. After high school and graduating from Jacksonville College in Jacksonville, TX, Troy enrolled at Texas A&M University and continued his radio career at KTSR-FM under the name "Tommy Sledge." Although Troy cringes everytime he's reminded of that horrible name, he takes pride in being the last radio personality to broadcast from the final Aggie Bonfire held at Texas A&M University before the tragic collapse in 1999.
After Texas A&M, Troy headed up north to Dallas and continued his radio ways at KHKS-FM which included a seven year stint with Kidd Kraddick In the Morning. During that time Troy was named one of Billboard's Ones To Watch, featured in the Dallas Morning News and voiced a character role in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
